A new book has recently been published on Duvelleroy, detailing the history of the company and its rebirth. European Fans in the 17th and 18th centuries: Images, Accessories and Instruments of Gesture edited by Miriam Volmert and Danijela Bucher and published by De Gruyter. The book is the proceedings of a conference held at the University of Zurich almost exactly two years ago and is written in the original language of the presentations – German, French and English. The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg has recently published a book on its fan collection, written by Julia Plotnikova who has been the curator of the collection for many years. Sadly it is only available in Russian but it contains sumptuous images of this wonderful collection:
